How to make crispy air fried chicken in the air fryer

Sprinkle liberally with cooking spray to ensure that all flour is coated with oil.

This combo will ensure that the air-fried chicken is tender, juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. With so much taste and texture, we guarantee you that you can never eat fried chicken.

What do you need to make air fried chicken in the air fryer

Chicken: You can use your favorite chicken cut. Half or whole (double recipe for this) chicken (skin), or chicken wings, legs, or a slice of your favorite chicken.

Buttermilk: Buttermilk is used to soften chicken and break down protein, resulting in a juicy tasty chicken. If you do not have buttermilk, scroll down to the DIY Whey recipe 5 minutes below.

Flour and Corn Flour: Coated with a mixture of chicken flour and cornflour ensures a super crunch on the outside. Cornstarch helps the chicken to turn brown on the outside and forms a seal that holds the fruit juice inside the chicken. If you do not have corn, you can use the flour until next time.

Spices: Spices are important in this recipe because they convey the taste of chicken and make the chicken like your favorite fried chicken restaurant. It may look like we use a lot of spices, but trust me, the result is amazing and every bite is worth it!

Hot Sauce: Hot sauce adds flavor and color to the chicken and gives it an extra kick of spice. This is completely optional, but highly recommended for maximum flavor! Use your favorite hot sauce or choose Frank.
